| A padded board splint designed for the rigors of pre-
hospital care. A high quality wood core has been covered with a
high quality foam and then encased in a seamless protective coating. The
results are a reusable, easily cleaned, ridged, yet comfortable, splint
that is durable and long lasting. No More
skimpy, easily bent or broken splints that have minimal padding and a
thin, easily damaged covering. Available in 6 different lengths the PFD
SPLINT covers a wide range of applications. While slightly more costly the
other brands of splints the longevity of the PFD SPLINT will more then
make up the difference in cost in the long run. Each set contains one each
of the following: 9"- 12”- 15” - 18”- 24" - 36". Splints may also be
purchased individually. The PFD Splint was created to provide a strong, durable, long lasting and economical padded board splint for pre hospital care. The days of a trip to the lumber yard for boards, the dime store for foam rubber, and the hardware store for duct tape to make your own padded board splints are gone. While the home made splints worked great they were almost impossible to clean. All kinds of dirt, blood, and who knows what other contaminants stuck to the seams of the duct tape. The commercial, single use (throw away), type of padded board splint present another set of problems. They brake easily, the covering is easily damaged, and over the long term, as they are replaced, the total moneys spent for padded board splints makes them costly. We, and others, felt a need for a commercially made padded board splint that is rugged, durable, economical and available in different lengths than what is currently available. At Approximately 2 1/2 " wide the PFD Splint comes in six (6) lengths ranging from 9" thru 36". Available as individual splints or as a set of six (6) splints, one of each, the cost for one (1) set of PFD Splints is comparable to the price of one (1) set of the single use splints on the market today and they don’t need to be replaced after each use. Made with a high quality wood core, with foam on one side, they are covered with a seamless protective coating of synthetic rubber. In lengths of 9", 12", 15", 18", 24", and 36" they can cover a wide range of applications. The PFD Splint is easily cleaned. In most cases warm soap and water and the use of a powdered cleaner (Ajax, Comet Cleanser, etc.) and a soft bristle brush is all that is needed for general cleaning. SOS pads work great !!!! If the coating becomes too difficult to clean or, if the coating is damaged, the product may be shipped back to the manufacture for recoating at a nominal cost plus shipping.
